Data sheet builder

Every caseload is different: rename the columns, add fields, set the rows, keep or remove our logo, and print. Everything happens in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Not sure which preset matches your goal, or how often to collect? Read the practical guide on baseline, methods, and running this with a real caseload.

Have a student saved in IEP Architect? Sign in and every goal on their IEP becomes its own tracking sheet, already labeled, one click from their page.

Written on the sheet so whoever collects the data knows exactly what "met" means.

With a roster, the downloaded PDF builds one copy of this sheet per student, each with the name already on it. Leave empty for a single blank sheet.

Common questions

Which sheet type matches my goal?

Read the goal's measurement clause and let it choose for you. "How often" is frequency or rate; "how long" is duration; "how fast they start" is latency; a chained routine is a task analysis; accuracy across chances is trial-by-trial or percent of opportunities. Hunting for a pattern before an FBA? That's the scatterplot. If nothing fits, start from the blank sheet and name your own columns.

Is any of this really free?

All of it. There's no account or email wall, and even the logo comes off with the toggle if you want it gone. The sheets are built in your browser, so nothing you type is ever sent to us. We make our living on the IEP drafting tool, not on paper.

What does the roster do?

Paste up to 30 names or aliases, one per line. The PDF builds one copy of the sheet per student with the name already on it (a data-collection binder in one download) and the Excel file adds a tab per student plus a caseload summary tab that rolls everyone up.

What's the difference between the PDF, fillable PDF, and Excel downloads?

Same sheet, three ways to use it. The PDF is the clipboard version: print it and write on it. The fillable PDF has a type-in field over every cell, for staff who work on a laptop or tablet but live in PDFs; it stores what you type without doing math, because in-PDF calculation is unreliable outside desktop Acrobat. The Excel file is where the math lives: columns total and average themselves, the mastery target sits in an editable cell, and a "met so far?" cell compares your running average against it.

Why put the mastery rule on the sheet?

Because the person collecting the data is often not the person who wrote the goal. When "met" is defined in the header (80% across 4 of 5 consecutive sessions, say) a para, a co-teacher, or a sub collects to the same standard you report against.

Can it use my students' real information?

Use first names or aliases; every preset says "Student (alias)" on purpose, because paper travels. If you use IEP Architect with your caseload, the app opens this builder with the goal already printed on the sheet, alias-only, without anything passing through a server.
